About The Artwork
The work was inspired by an old tradition in Africa where men took teenage boys aged 16+ into the the African wilderness, Inorder to introduce them to being a man. The young men were circumcised, taught how to hunt and use traditional weapons for protection, and were expected upon their return, to be a productive members of the society.
