The 4 Seasons Painting

THE 4 SEASONS. It is a cycle with no beginning or end, as each season simply transitions into the next. Various types of glass and gold smalti cut and set into cement hand-colored with pigments. The 24K gold leaf and 6K white gold leaf in this piece sparkles during both the day and night. The gold leaf is sandwiched between two layers of glass and melted together. This is called "gold smalti" and is handmade in Italy. It is the same material as what was used by the Byzantines. "The 4 Seasons", 2004. Framed artwork weight: 12.8 KG / 28 LBS. To hang, please make sure to use correct plugs in the wall and hang with two heavy-duty screws. The artwork hangs from two steel wires, one on either side.
