The Abyss Painting

Certainly, one of the most thought-provoking quotes that gave rise to various interpretations about the essence of the Abyss. Here is how I see the Abyss: The Abyss is an empty bottomless pit. Completely empty, however, if you gaze long enough into the Abyss, it begins to fill itself with the negative or positive emotions that you are feeling at that particular time-frame. Ultimately, these negative or positive emotions will gaze back at you from the Abyss, as if notarizing these feelings. For example, if you were told or feel that you were not destined to succeed and you keep repeating that feeling to yourself over and over again, sooner or later, you will find yourself complying with the supposed “truth” - that you were not destined to succeed - when in reality there is no such thing as "not destined to succeed". Similarly, if you were told or feel that you were destined to succeed and you keep repeating that feeling to yourself over and over again, sooner or later, you will find yourself complying with the supposed “truth” - that you were destined to succeed - when in reality there is no such thing as "destined to succeed". Your desire to succeed and a repetition of this desire in your mind has generated a new reality out of nothing. I see the Abyss as a device that turns your thoughts into reality.
