About The Artwork

The annunciation" in western art is usually a calm and happy event. Now, however, Gabriel stands with lowered horn: his message is past. Opposite him, framing the empty cathedral, is the angel of death, with sword drawn. Things are pretty hot here. Towards the bottom, people grieve the loss of a livable future; below them, are the mechanical instruments which have given us so much, but in the end, may be a bad bargain.

I began my art education with Boston painter Morton Sacks. He encouraged me to go to Kokoschka's Schule des Sehens in Salzburg, Austria. After that, I am mostly self-taught. I've had numerous solo shows, plus frequent representation in juried group shows. My work is in private collections across the U.S.
