The artist started to practice wood carving for Orthodox churches 30 years ago. 2 years ago she got interested in painting from clay, but the icon is written according to all canons of Orthodox. She was amazed by the color capabilities of the material. Color gives dynamics and expression to a static image. The technique is really durable and painstaking. Only a few people in the world know how to work in it.
