Painting: Pastel, Charcoal, Pencil, Watercolor on Paper.
The work shows albino deers battling each other on hind legs. They represent at the same time different facets of the same character, as an inner battle is taking place. We don´t know which facet of ourselves will be winning but there is a feeling of struggling, fear, surprise, as well as pain. Differently from all my previous work, this big format drawing is dark, disquieting, unsettling. There is no peace, no rest, and the light appears through a complex net of branches and trees. It represents a dark time, a time of battling to remain alive, yet there is constant energy flowing throughout the composition together with a certain brightness, that infuses the scene with a certain feeling of hope. This work can be seen as a high biographical work, and the completion of it marks the end of a pivotal phase in my life.
