About The Artwork

Symbolically painted in dominating colors of red, white, and blue, this work captures the destruction of the American Dream, at the hands of what is currently being referred to as "The 1%." The Man in the Tie has mechanistic arms and smoke stacks emanating from his head, as if the industry he has created has taken him over. He has "lost" his pants, as opposed to losing his shirt, so he stands naked before us, but with plenty of money. His face betrays empty eyes and looks as if it is about to explode, with characteristic white clouds emanating from it, as he aspires for even more wealth, greedy an insufferable. His mouth hangs open, his tongue mockingly stretched out, and all around him is chaos, what he has left in is wake.
