The cat and the centipede Painting

To Understand Consciousness by Subconsciousness I dedicate the first part of the project to folk artists, their ability to play with colour as with sound. Folk masters are those adults, who can see the world of adult images by child's eyes. For this reason, I dedicate the second part of the project to child’s painting which is so close to naive art. Child's and folk art are commonly originated through the openness and primary of perception. Powerful and integral images, clean and open colour, free plasticity of lines are not conditioned by canonical perception of academic art. A schematic figurativeness is nested at the gene level, as a code of generations. The absence of the generally accepted logic, clean subconsciousness, and free display of the internal world is as vision beyond the real and analytical perception. The folk and child's arts are the arts of subconscious meditations. Either having a wish to learn, or to analyse, I took child's works of my own and my senior daughter’s Aleksandra. Children draw in such a manner only at certain age, somewhere from two to seven… Having passed the age of reason I made an effort to reproduce some of that works, painting them in canvas oil technique, and slightly having changed the composition, or rather having grouped a few subjects on one canvas. Child's works contain all which is to be in the utmost art: both emotions and figurativeness, but there no chances to understand and reproduce that for the adults! Trying to reproduce the child's paintings, I understood that I lost the main – emotions, there only remained stylized and infantile shell, filled with beautiful colors and conciseness of dry lines of playful images. Once the doors at the world of childhood close forever, but when you make an attempt to get there back, you get a lot of positive emotions or change yourself and study that has been able to do before.
