VIEW IN MY ROOM
What is history to mankind? Can we change history? Our history is filled with human saga, some extremely barbaric and cruel like world wars. Others like the deeds of heroes and leaders move us to tears for the sacrifice and courage they displayed at the right time to usher the better lives we take for granted today. Be they heroic or heinous deeds, can we actually go back and rewrite our history for the reason that they do not fit the narratives of the political mood today? We can deny the ones we don't admire and pick and choose only those that suit us now. But would that not be like selective memories? The past happened. We cannot go back to the past and undo or alter them. The best, it seems, is to know the history and learn from it. For, they say History repeats itself, IF we do not learn. The cellist plays beautiful music paying homage to the human history. For it is what it is - it bought us here today. Whether we love our mothers or have issues, we cannot undo the fact that our life came from them.
