The Clearing Painting

This contemporary, semi-abstract oil painting was created over several days, building many layers of delicately applied oil paint onto a gesso primed wooden panel. The view is near where I live, so is very familiar to me and is just before the trees spring to life with green. The winding path leads beneath the trees and through shrubs that cast shadows, leading towards the sun filled clearing, with its bright grass. There is an atmosphere of anticipation, as the sunshine and blue sky warms the foliage, welcoming Spring. Please note, the colours are quite subtle, and so this painting was hard to photograph and get a consistent colour likeness! The artwork is sold framed and ready to hang, in a bespoke, professionally hand made, solid wood frame. The frame is painted in Farrow & Ball paint, in mid-grey. Painting with Michael Harding Artist Quality Oil Colours on a mounted wood board. It is signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
