The Colour of Music Painting

I start a piece of art by seeing a portion of it within me. From there the artwork takes on a life of its own. In the case of The Colour of Music all I saw was one note that I needed to create. From there other pieces started to fall into place. The setting is that of a concert hall where music fills the space. The most important person in a concert is the conductor. That is the Treble Clef. No patrons are visible because the filling of the space is the music. Each note has its own unique character by giving each note a different color. My artworks combine acrylic paints with watercolors and pigmented inks on Canva Paper. It is a combination of painting and drawing. I need the stiffness of the paper while having a canvas surface for the paints. All in all music moves in many different directions and cannot be corralled into one space.
