Inspired by this quote by Vera Nazarian: “When hope is fleeting, stop for a moment and visualize, in a sky of silver, the crescent of a lavender moon. Imagine it -- delicate, slim, precise, like a paper-thin slice from a cabochon jewel. It may not be very useful, but it is beautiful. And sometimes it is enough.” Painting medium: Acrylic painting stretched on a gallery profile canvas 0.75”. Signed on the front. Signed, titled and dated on the back. Painting features: The painting is wrapped on the sides of the stretcher bars so your new art is ready to hang. Your painting will arrive framed, with maple solid wood frame, wired and ready to hang straight out of the box - no special tools or handy work required. The paining is sealed with a clear, gloss varnish, to enhance the vibrancy of colors and to protect your paining from dust, dirt and fading from UV light.

My name is Suzanne! I was born and raised in Iraq. I started painting at an early age. My early memories of art include visiting various art galleries in Iraq with my dad. I had the privilege of meeting some of the Pioneers of abstract painting in Iraq such as Jamil Hamoudi, Layla Al-Attar, and Sabih Naama. I remember vividly how excited I felt to receive feedback and autographs from these famous artists. Despite all the monumental challenges that came with growing up in Iraq, I was able to find joy in creating art. In the midst of all of that, I created my own definition of beauty. Creating art was my sanctuary. In 2005 I had to leave my whole life behind along with all my paintings and start a new life in Canada. I had to put all my creative dreams on hold as I was immersing myself in a new culture. In 2012 I received my bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and I have been working in this field since. After settling down in my career and life, I decided it was time to embark on my art journey again. I went to the Alberta College of Art and Design and took Drawing and Painting Courses. It was a good way to get back into the art scene. Since then, I have been painting every evening, exploring new techniques and playing with new media. I use acrylic paint, gesso, molding paste, crackling paste, and marble dust. I love to create textured paintings. I am fascinated by textures. It gives my painting a 3rd dimension and a lively feel. It is hard to contain what inspires me. I am inspired by shapes, colors, events, feelings. I am also inspired by the infinitely exquisite shapes and colors and events of nature. I love the use of gold and silver as they add elegance to my paintings. Each one of my paintings conveys a message of gratitude, hope, beauty, and perseverance. There is beauty everywhere, and it is up to us to find it in the humblest things. Beauty is the illumination of our perception of the world. Dreams come true through belief and perseverance. I hope you find elegance, inspiration, and empowerment in the artworks that I offer.
