About The Artwork
The Celtic Dark Sea The painting was inspired by two similar shaped mountains in North Wales UK. I wanted to have the effect of a wild and windy lake or sea but also of a particular place that I went fishing at as a teenager. A boat appeared while painting this painting out of a drip or two of paint and a flick of the brush. The Northern Lights were discussed one night on television and this eventually and much later on led to a visit to Iceland to see the Northern lights otherwise known as the Aurora Borealis.
