About The Artwork
I have long had a love affair with Chinoiserie, Matisse and Frida Kahlo. I like to believe that Frida and Matisse might have had a little dalliance. This painting is from a series which I feel might have adorned the walls of Matisse's glorious provencal salon on the day he invited Frida round for tea and a bit of a flirt. Painted onto a simple reversed wooden panel creating a natural frame which has been painted in a naive simple way to become an integral part of the picture. There are D rings and cord supplied on the back of the picture.
