About The Artwork

A few years ago researching a novel I wanted to write I came across the story of Loudun in 1632 where it was believe a mass demonic possession took place. The nuns lived through the ordeal. Father Grandier, not so much. He was ultimately burned at stake after standing accused of being in league with the devil and turning into a black goat that frequented the Ursuline convent. I had an idea about late 19th/ early 20th century ad posters in and around Paris and tourist posters as well. Not that they had tourism posters back in the 17th century. But this rendering is me imagining it after turning the mass possession and the convent into a tourist trap for both the curious and the devout.
