About The Artwork
The dodo has always been an interesting bird to me. Not that I have ever seen one in real life, as they are extinct, but they are an infamous bird species and so I wished to portray one in my spontaneous realism style of painting using acrylic on canvas. In this piece, as well as the rest in this collection, I have included a hidden scene. The purpose was to create another layer to the painting. I want the viewer to stop and look at everything that is happening in the painting, not just the obvious. By creating a "where's Waldo" experience, I am able to achieve this.
