The portrait illustrate a man in the Syrian war. It is part of a series entitled "The Cradle of Eden". I just had to paint the fate of the people from Aleppo. If I can reach the true expression that arises in the mental interior of man when war and destruction suppress fate, then my dream is fulfilled. My hope is that the painting gives the viewer an awareness of the war in Syria. Acrylic paint appeals to the fast movements on the canvas, allowing me to immerse myself in my process.

In my workshop, anything can happen. All kinds of tools, all media, all elements are in operation when I am in my creative process. In the innermost universe of quantum physics scientists sit and immerse themselves in stopping the light. It can be quite staggering to imagine and it seems to me a pretty abstract concept. Therefore, the light and the light source occupy me a lot when I am in the abstract process, and the light often ends up being one of the supporting elements of my works. And when light is my focal point somewhere on my canvas, I always have the following questions in my head: --- What can stop the light? --- Where can the light break out? --- What point does the light hit? --- Is there a '' space '' that forms the background to the light? --- How can the light be captured? I have a passion for people, individualism and relations. The human expression, our origin and deversity fascinates me. When i focus on my charcoal drawings, I seek to get the right expression with intensity and atmosphere. My universe take place in the meeting with the events in the surrounding reality. I focus to keep the atmosphere, and I want to draw everything that cant be said with words. It is the meaningfull things in life – and all that we as humans take distance to and fight against.
