"The Face Of A Clockmaster" is a tribute to a range of women of undefined age who are doing anything possible to defy the aging process in their appearance, often at the price of real emotions, real facial expressions, and real living. *** Мои подруга не любит морщины... Ещё боится всерьёз целоваться, А вдруг подпортит оскал лебединый. Моей подруге на вид двадцать восемь, Вот только жалко , что все удивление Со лба слизал неразборчивый ботокс, И в складках больше нет жизни томления... Есть ряд гримас, однотонно-скользящих, Есть ровный взгляд: взад, вперёд или мимо. А я скучаю по ней, настоящей... И я пока выбираю морщины ... (2018) TRANSLATED POETRY (ENGLISH) My girlfriend despises wrinkles ... She is forty years younger than me ... Not by papers, by external details, Based on her smooth and injected skin. My girlfriend does not like to laugh. A smile spoils the absence of lines. Also she avoids French kiss stuff, It may spoil her grin of a swan. My girlfriend looks twenty-eight. That's just a pity that traces of wonder Botox licked from her cheeks and forehead And in the folds there is no life’s hunger ... She mastered a number of scowls, Gazes forward, back, through, up and down. But I miss the genuine face of her ... Therefore I choose wrinkles for now ...
