Bacchanal usually means carnival or some form of festival. However, in the Caribbean, bacchanal tends to refer to a high-drama incident marked by scandal, confusion or conflict. This painting, the Face of Bacchanal represents the provoker of such high-drama... the village or neighbourhood gossip who adds fuel to the fire. I work in various media, but acrylics on canvas is my preferred medium. This painting is textured and invites the viewer to delve beneath to discover the bacchanal.

I am a painter, photographer and film maker from Petit Goâve, Haïti, resident in Grenada, Caribbean. My abstract artworks explore Haitian identity, culture, history and tradition, and take the form of mixed media paintings on canvas and wood. I have been exhibited in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, United States, Switzerland, Romania, Spain, England, China, France, Trinidad and Grenada.
