In this painting we clearly can see in the back a city, we see a river, a water fall, and some trees and a bridge. But the symbolic meaning, since the painting also is about the fall of Adam and Eve, which we see, after having left the paradise (probably located to the east upstream the water fall), so the painting actually is about the fall of Adam and Eve.The city in the back looks a bit arabe like, and the boat looks like a turist boat downstream Niagara Fall. We can imagine Adam and Eve gazing at the water fall, and that there is a sound also, which is the sound made by God's thundering at the Fall of Man: "

I am a Danish hydrologist currently working as a principal investigator and researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland at Øster Voldgade 10, 1350 in Copenhagen (working in close cooperation with Copenhagen University institute for geology and geography). I am known for my research in the field of hydrogeology, with a focus on groundwater resources and their management, as well as the impact of climate change on groundwater systems. I have published many papers in the international scientific journals, and I am also a member of several scientific organisations.
