Oil on canvas paper 31x46x2cm (12x18x0.8in) 2019, ready to hang The fortune teller is a painting which shows the ability of the artist in working with small details in a very detailed context. Here you can see a portrait-style artwork where I have managed to make the woman (the fortune teller) stand out the background by using a big amount of paint and a gestural style. The picture that I have worked on is one of the many I have shot during my photo sessions. This one is taken from a photo session I had several years ago while I was working on a big ‘Caravaggio style’ artwork. I kept this particular photo because I loved the look of the fortune teller and I finally painted it during the summer of 2019. The fortune teller is an oil artwork painted on a fine canvas paper. It is mounted on a wooden structure and ready to hang.

In my paintings I focus on figures and their interaction with the landscape and architecture. After spending some years being very faithful to the samples, I am now experimenting different styles of painting and alternating portraits (mainly commissions) with sperimental artworks. Also, I am increasingly taking advantage of image editing softwares in pre-production to find the best colours and lights for the painting. I use oil colours both on wood and linen. All the materials used in the artworks are high quality, from hand primed canvas (by myself, using a classic method that prevents from aging and deterioration) to colours.
