The paintings have the same sizes (60x60 cm) and were painted with acrylic paint. Among them are: "South Wind, Clear Sky" or "Red Fuji, “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”, “Rain Storm Beneath the Summit”. To express their vision of the work of Hokusai and make clear the visual proposal, In this series, SAFE used as inspiration two elements: the colors and the titles of the woodblocks of Hokusai. The color combination with the primitive pictographic language resulted in an abstract reinterpretation unusual for its aesthetic beauty and their deep meaning. The series named Fugaku Sanju Rokkei (Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji), created in 1832 is the best know Hokusai’s masterpieces and is well representative of all Japanese woodblock print developed by school of Ukiyo-ê.
