Acrylic painting around a vintage postcard, stuck on a canvas cardboard and representing a view of Miami with the following caption: "S.S. Florida, passing thru channel at Miami, Florida, upon arrival from Havana, Cuba, 504". Sophie Spandonis imagined what is happening out of the frame of the idyllic view of a postcard and chose to introduce a contrast by painting a huge wave - as a tsunami - endangering the cruise ship. The wave is a tribute to Japanese artist Hokusai and to his famous print "The Great wave off Kanagawa". The piece is circular.
