About The Artwork
Original vintage postcard representing a cute blond kid, dressed in a traditionnal swiss or german costume in a bucolical landscape. The postcard has a "naive" style. The artist stuck the postcard on a wood frame canvas and painted all around it with acrylic, imitating the aesthetics of the postcard. She plays with the optical illusion of the "trompe l'oeil" to create a contrast between the idyllic view represented on the postcard and the frightening head formed by the clouds above the kid. It´s a visual play on words: the dreamy kid really has a head in the clouds, maybe his inner fear...
