“The Help” Painting

Civilisation has collapsed. But that’s okay, our billionaire is happy in his bunker surrounded by art as the starving survivors bang on his panoramic windows. Alex Scarrow's post-apocalyptic vision is an unveiled attack on the excesses and inequalities of capitalism. In a nod to Dante's exploration of the levels of hell, we start at the top with what appears to be a comfortable existence, but at the bottom we discover the grim reality of the billionaire's sustenance. Alex Scarrow innovates wonderfully by having the billionaire, his family and his staff as separate miniature portraits allowing the client to move them around like macabre dolls in a grim doll house. The characters (x7) are miniature portraits that can be moved around the canvas to stage your own narrative.
