About The Artwork
The youngest of the four Romanov girls, Anastasia was always impetuous and many photographs show her as a lively character. She and her sisters stitched family jewels into their clothing hoping they might buy freedom from captivity, but the jewels had unexpected and tragic consequences. I hope I have captured her impish personality. The light from the ruby she is wearing reflects around her face. I have used silver leaf around the edges of the wood panel to give the work the look of an icon. The painting is frames with a light grey wooden tray frame. Ready to hang .
