This is one in a series of artworks I made which combines the unintential beauty of scientific illustrations/diagrams with images of people who have been removed for their own context and transposed into an abstract landscape. The juxaposition of imaginery creates a surreal world, which is both nostalgic and dream-like. The images are built up over several layers and utilises many artistic techniques including drawing, markmaking, printing (half tone screen printing, mono printing and relief printing), painting (oil and acrylic) and hand lettering. All the work in this series are created by traditional techniques...they are NOT collage or digital prints.
