"THE LAST LAUGH" was part of a 50 artworks series that was exhibited in an institution in New Port Beach, Ca, shown in the late 90's. This was a collage I created that involved pastel, ink and disparate imagery combined to show different elements of urban visuals with extreme emotions. Here we see a black woman laughing to the sky as an airplane careens toward her. The woman's body is white and yet her face is black. It's like a mutant integration of races. This artwork is shocking and confrontational; Its definitely for the art collector who wants something different.
"THE LAST LAUGH" was inspired by the gritty and powerful imagery of New York City and it's people. This environment has allowed me to visually illustrate the frenetic activity and it's disturbing tone.
