About The Artwork

The work are inspired by the one of legends of Martisor...when the Sun came down to Earth, but a mean dragon eat it and kept the sun underground...then a brave man found the sun in the cave, and brought to light. The snow melt and the nature rebirth...since then the sacrifice of the brave man' s blood and the last drop of snow returned into a simbol: Martisor, made from white and red threads, which remind everyone of the power of the rebirth, of hope of life...Martisor is the most popular symbol in the Romania, Moldova and some parts of Bulgaria, and it is proudly worn on the coats by everyane in the firts month of spring, then the Mărțișor is hanged on a tree for goodluck.

The painter ( b.1988) works and live in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. The artworks are inspired by the traditional, tribal elements, religious subjects and folklore, so the artwork may become a fairytale itself. The unique travels trough the Olivia's art leave traces on canvas that will certainly touch your soul... " I have been painting since as far back as I can remember, proudly displaying my art in school exhibitions when I was just a little girl. Outstanding mentors guided me while I was still in middle school. Blessed to have had great teachers in the persons of moldavian painters like Isai Cârmu that encouraged to follow the activity more professionally although I was just a teenager. I cherish every moment spent while learning in a master 's atelier, Ion Serbinov, painter and professor at Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chisinau. Today works are in private collections across Moldova and abroad. In the last 10 years, my creation got to a certain abstract style, where you may discover flowers, clouds, traditional and religious elements along with surrealism that allows the viewer to be part of the final act of the painting. I paint only in oil, both palette knife and brush. When I'm painting all borders and limits disappear as I may discover another worlds full of magic...."
