About The Artwork

A lioness skull from which black lilies are born. This piece has as its inspiration the feminist fight represented by the animal world. Seeing the skull, most people would immediately associate it with that of a lion, but it is actually a lioness, this underlines the importance of the feminine declination, which is often obscured by the masculine one, considered "universal" or in able to give greater importance. The lioness is now skinned in a skull, a symbol of everything that the female gender has had to undergo up to now and which still continues to undergo: deprived of their freedom, rights, their body and their social role. But the teeth are still sharp, the skull is still perfectly intact, and from it the flowers continue to stand and grow. Resistance to freedom and equal rights. The work is made in watercolor, ink, pencils and gouache on 100% cotton 640 grams paper.
