About The Artwork
Oil on stretched canvas. The Master was created after a series of conversations with a friend about the nature of the Divine. We have discussed many types of religions over the years, including Christianity and Buddhism and also Paganism. I came to the conclusion that it was not the person that was giving messages or teachings to the people that was special but the messages or teachings moving through them. The Master is naked, showing both vulnerability and strength, he is clad in a threadbare cloak which depicts humility. He can come to us in any form but anonymity is the more general type when one meets somebody who can change lives and mindsets. His face does not exist, again this underlines that it is the message or teaching that is moving through him is more important than the messenger himself. The being behind him shows both greatness of spirit and the sense of something more, a Divinity that we are aware of but cannot fully access. His back ground is golden, once again underlining the Divine connection. He came from it, cloaked in anonymity and to this he will return, leaving no trace. We all can carry such messages, without being aware of it and every one of us is unique but at the same time nothing special, why should this be any different for a spiritual master? People tend to put too much emphasis on the person speaking rather than what is being said and it is what is being said that deserves more attention that the person themselves. Now in a private collection, this painting is being sold as a print.

The act of creation is a mysterious process, I follow the energy and truly believe that the colours, textures and outer forms I’ve created have profound inner emotions behind them. Painting my inner landscape into being, I resonate with the world and celebrate all life. The inspiration that stimulates my creativity is conceptualized and birthed from my inner emotions, which colourfully give form and texture to my beliefs and ideas.
