About The Artwork
A still-life echoing the paintings I grew up around in Haarlem, The Netherlands coming from a tradition of great still-life paintings often using food as a motif. It is also a memorial to the objects I kept from my childhood. Painted on fine Belgian linen with Gamblin oil paints and technically very high-quality. Painted in my studio over the course of many weeks in 2014.
