This piece is part of "The Palestinian Nakba Revival 1948" Collection, which was crafted to honor those Palestinians who were forcibly uprooted from their homes in 1948. Utilizing oil paint on canvas, I blend contemporary and modern artistic styles with vivid, striking background hues to infuse life into each artwork. Embedded in the rich mosaic of Palestinian cultural heritage, this collection draws its inspiration from the Nakba events of 1948. Since this critical juncture, themes of nationalism and identity have become prominent in Palestinian art. Artists of various generations have embraced an array of mediums to express their profound ties to their identity and homeland, leveraging art as a potent vehicle for expression and investigation. The genesis of this collection was prompted by my children's curiosity about Palestine and its history. Feeling a compelling need to illuminate this chapter of history, I aimed to ensure our descendants are informed about the events that drastically altered the lives of 700,000 refugees and many others who remained in Palestine. It became my duty to narrate the stories of my parents and grandparents, passing down this legacy to my children and the third generation who now reside in places far removed from our ancestral homeland of Palestine.
