Art Description

Painting: Acrylic and Household on Canvas.

This artwork was part of my '42' exhibition at the Magpie Art Collective 6th October - 9th November 2018.

Inspired by my love for Gustav Klimt's work, 'The Phoenix' is my warrior woman. She embraces her femininity and has integrated her divine masculine making her a nurturer, a lover and a warrior. Earth energy lives and breathes through her. She is fully integrated with sacred geometry, symbology, fractals and the idea that the microcosm reflects the macrocosm to which their is no end to the seeking eye. Her 'gold' eye is the eye that continuously wants to look out into the multiverse, ever creating. Her 'normal' eye is inner reflection, always grounded within the knowledge that she is everything and everything is in her. She is the matrix (or 'womb') of reality and reality is projected through her eyes.

My intention is for the viewer to feel a sense of remembrance of the love and wholeness of the Source of Creation (or 'Intelligent Design') that you are.

I get excited when I work with mixed media and have incorporated tissue paper, foil and oil pastels to give a sense of depth, movement and light to this piece.
