About The Artwork
My trips to Bali, specifically Ubud, inspired this painting. Imagery, sensations, sounds, spirituality of the surroundings - I was drawn back to my experience there when creating this artwork. I hope the viewer will also be transported back to or be inspired to journey to this piece of paradise. Working with acrylic paint on canvas is a delight to work with. It enables quick brush strokes and mark making while building up the many layers that are integral to the under-painting. The joy comes near the end when the imagery is revealed.
