This piece already has four generations of history in it... my great grandma Helen also loved to paint southwest landscapes, and I couldn't believe my fortune when I came across two old canvas boards with HER sketches on them! This is the first one which I took the liberty of painting and finishing. I love the close-up perspective she chose of that gorgeous arch and would love to visit it someday (probably on foot though, unlike that space cowgirl there). Acrylic + paper embellishments on canvas board, 18x24 inches (20x26 framed) I use Golden Acrylics for their quality not only in paint handling but also for their archival properties. The Space Cowgirl was created using tracing paper and pencil and applied with acrylic medium.
