Pilgrims have taken the roads to Santiago for many hundreds of years and have seen many things on the way. Some in the heat of the Sun and some in the depths of winter. This acrylic painting, with some collage, is, hopefully to pay some homage to those who set out on this road, and who undertake for many different reasons. It is painted on Winsor and Newton canvas board.

I am an artist working from my studio in North West England at Morecambe Bay just south of the Lake District. For many years I was Senior Illustrator and Draftsman for a University archaeology unit. I was in charge of drafting on sites of excavation and in the office illustrating finds. I have illustrated academic publications for English Heritage, a number of universities and publications for academic historians. I have also worked in a number of commercial art studios.
