About The Artwork
This work was made after a long stay in New York City, where I visited many museums like the American Museum of Natural History. It was the beginning of the project 'The Romantic Escape' on which I worked for 2-3 years. The animals struck me because they embodied the state I was in at that moment in my personal and artistic life. They seemed stuck but longing for something better and bigger, facing the lights shining on them.
