About The Artwork
The Sound Sea Makes is inspired by the ebb and flow of water on the pebble beach shoreline, the rustling, rattling sound of stones as they wash together and the shimmer of the sun glancing off smooth, wet surfaces. It is a dramatic and quite disturbing sound, whilst at the same time beautiful, romantic, wistful and a little melancholic, whispering in a language that cannot be fully understood except by the feelings this sound evokes. Acrylic ink brings out the intense vibrancy of colour reflecting the intensity and mystery of this rustling, swishing sound and movement.

I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, where I grew up and spent most of my life. I studied Fine Art and eventually established and ran my own private art school. I moved to England in 2000 where I have been living and working ever since. My artwork reflects the graphic and decorative aspects of my character and has recently been influenced by the life around me in Brighton with its many colourful inhabitants and famous pebble beaches.
