About The Artwork

The concept of time has always seemed a secret, but many ideas have been put forward that it is relative. This concept has always fascinated me. I think time flows differently for everyone and everything. The speed of dreaming is perhaps the fastest and can change the structure of time. Perhaps more imagination may be necessary to understand the time. We can sense the time in everything we think we see and in our thoughts. Every thought, form and color that I try to imagine in a two-dimensional plane is an intervention of my own will in my own time. Perhaps it may be an opportunity for the audience to re-interpret an imaginary dream that I have initiated, to realize endless possibilities.

I'm Semih Turan Tunca. I was born in Ankara, Turkey's capital. I lived 7 years of my childhood in Germany. I studied high school in Ankara, university in Istanbul, Mimar Sinan University, Theater decor and costume design. Then I studied audio visual art at Hochschue Der Bildende Künste in Saarbrücken Germany. Currently, I live in Kusadasi / in Turkey. I held my first painting exhibition in Art Deco Saarbrücken Germany. I also designed and realized wall paintings in Saarbrücken Germany. These works, which I currently present at Saatchi Art, are part of my next exhibition. The name of this series is "Time travel". I prefer to work with acrylic on canvas. Acrylic dries quickly and thus provides comfort while working. If I have been able to create a park of images that naturally emerges from the relationship between the forms I portray in my mind and which can be reinterpreted in the mind of the audience, I can be considered to have reached my goal.
