I saw a photograph of this lady on the internet in 100 photographs of people over 100, but could not find the photographer. I would have loved to acknowledge him/her, but decided to paint this beautiful lady that reminded me of my own mother. I hope I did justice to the lady and to the photographer, because I enjoyed doing it tremendously.

I am an practicing architect with my wife- SM!T ARCHITECTS (www.smitarchitects.co.za) I am also a professor in architecture- teaching masters students in architecture, University of the Free State, South Africa. However, I've been drawing and painting since childwood and do it as a hobby today. Inspiration is mainly derived from the natural landscape as well as character studies. Similar to architectural investigations, I like exploring abstract forms and experiments.
