At the center of my work is always the question of the human condition. I'm interested in the duality and contradictions inherent in our sexual make-ups. My work is an investigation of Man as a product of Nature. I explore phenomena that are cyclical in nature. Human struggle, self selection, self destruction, survival instinct, gender, sexuality, emotional response. I have a love of the human body and explore manifestations of masculinity and femininity. Using ancient art then translating it into my own contemporary interpretation, I am attempting to uncover perpetual phenomena in the human experience. My autobiographical work is important in the sense that it helps me to understand my own influences from my experiences with the military, war, love and art. My work is created from a Naturalist point of view. It makes use of the argument of Nature vs. Nurture, Anthropology, and philosophical Literature.
