About The Artwork
The walled market town of Citta di Castello in Umbria is unique in that it is one of only two towns in Italy with a circular bell tower. This painting illustrates this, the cathedral and the interesting town wall into which houses and offices have been built. The landscape also features the distant Appennine Mountains and the beautiful monastery at Belvedere.

Studied a degree in glass design at Stourbridge College of Art in the 1980s and for a number of years ran a stained glass studio in South Wales. After a period working in the rat race I decided that life would be more fun if I sold up, moved to Italy and started painting. So for the last six years I have been painting and writing in Umbria, in a village just north of Assisi. The surrounding countryside and renowned artists of the area have acted as a constant source of inspiration for my works.
