About The Artwork
This painting could also be called "Chic Sheik". I used open space to give the impression of a desert expanse. The image is maybe male, maybe female. The turban in the painting is either a chic fashion statement or possibly the headdress of a sheik. This fascination with ambiguity is a thread throughout my work. I prefer to let the viewer sort out the ambiguity and not give away to much with the description. This description is the exception.

I have always made my way creating things; print design, illustration, set design and animation. After 15 years as a broadcast designer I founded an animation studio in 1987 which won many worldwide awards in all categories. At the 26 year mark the recession hit hard and the studio did not survive. In 2011 I began painting every day and my fine artist career started. I currently work in oils, acrylics, Sumi-E and digital design.
