About The Artwork
The work was inspired simply by the image of a staircase. It suggested to me the ups and downs of life. I often use architectonic elements as metaphors in my paintings. I like their certainty and the self assurance of the straight line, even though we always build our structures on fragile surfaces. This painting suggests that fragility but with bright optimistic colors.
