Painted on a transparant PVC foil, 'The wave' is about colours connecting on a different material. What happens to the colour when they are used on a transparant background, visible from both sides? How do the colours work together or individually. As a whole they look like being in the deep sea. That's where the name 'the wave' comes from. But not just from the sea, you can meet the wave in the sky, the sea or in nature a lot. Have you ever seen the form in daily life before? The way the colours appear on the PVC is different. It's like they get lifted to a different level, where they reveal their true deep colour background. This painting is part of a serie called 'elevating colours'. They all are painted on different colours of pvc foil. Playing with the lines in different angles, shapes (sticking the lines together or giving the colours their freedom). It is purely playing, how do the colours connect to their background. This painting is framed in an oak frame. Since the painting has multiple ways to look at, there are multiple hanging systems as well. There is a hanging system on the back. Also included are side stands coming along to be able to look at the back of the painting as well, or be able to turn it (visible in the pictures as well). So the painting can be standing freely in a space as well. Being able to play with daylight and the sun.
