About The Artwork

February 2020 Diptych "The Way to Reguli", (Day and Night). 100x80 cm each. According to the program of the international expedition "Top of Reguli" from 04 to 08 August 2019, together with a group of scientists, I took part in the expedition. The starting point was the village of Saranpaul, one of the distant points of the Khanty-Mansiysk District. On the expedition, I played the role of an artist: to analyze and collect materials for the embodiment of an art object or installation in a natural habitat, to study the area. There is a state of emergency in the settlement of Saranpaul - the peak of high water. We were held hostage by high water for 6 days and nights. During this time, we managed to get to know the local heroes. Only on the 6th day, the big water began to decline, and we went on an expedition to the Reguli Summit. The way to the top of Reguli lasted three days. On the way to the summit, at an altitude of about 1500 meters above sea level, feeling thirsty, I found a small piece of stale snow, and whoever was with me shared this meal. I have never chewed snow with such pleasure. Only 182 meters are left to the top, they conquered it at 18:10 local time. I spent 12 hours on admiration. And this is only half the way. We returned to the camp at 1:20 at night. Returning home, I realized that we had conquered several peaks at once: the peak of high water and the peak of the Reguli peak. And I am sincerely glad that there is such a beautiful and wild nature very close. Under the impression and observation received from the nature of the Ugra land, I created art objects called "The Path to Reguli". Dedicated to the Saranpaul settlement.

Ivan was born in 1984 in the city of Przhevalsk, near Lake Issyk-Kul in the Kyrgyz SSR. Now he lives and works in western Siberia, Russia. Lecturer of ceramics and design at Nizhnevartovsk State University. Member of international association of art - AIAP UNESCO, member union of art Russia. Analyzing the works of art by Ivan Demyanenko, one can distinguish many features of postmodern art. The artist is constantly experimenting. His works are heterogeneous, but they form one creative space. In his works he chooses such means of influence on the viewer as color and color spot, texture; the use of mixed techniques; creation of a series of works; striving for non-figurative, abstract interpretation of images. The associativity and symbolism of his artistic language appeal to archaic forms of thinking. They return a person to a time of primordial chaos.
