The westside girl Painting

Will Smith said "It’s really beautiful. It feels like God visits everywhere else, but lives in Africa". If you have observed, a lot of my paintings are indirect representations of the actual subject even when I'm describing about myself and I ought to use self-portraits(although sometimes they are used in a different series of works).Well, same with this. She's from the West side of Africa(Nigeria) and also West of Nigeria as well(Lagos). During one of my business visits to Lagos, I came across a lady who I observed severally wearing a necklace attached to a pendant designed in the form of an African map. Actually from what I thought, it felt like part of her usual daily dress code. Before I proceed, you may wonder why her head size is small and disproportionate to her body right? well,if you're familiar with my thoughts on relative black intellectual capacity as seen by some people in some other races then you will be aware. In continuation before the diversion, I found it hard to confront her and ask why she wore it and at the same time I didn't want to assume it was just for fashion. although she loved new styles and looking classy with nice earrings and other necklaces, but there was this necklace that seemed constant; the one with a pendant designed with an African map. Well, I found a way to ask her which I wouldn't want to bore you with but the main reason for this painting was what her reason for that which I would actually get straight to point with. She said "Africa is a blessed land, many don't see it that way because of some shortfalls but we are actually in a blessed land. And I wear this everyday because to me it signifies that blessing bestowed upon this great land and drawing more blessings to me". You can’t hate the roots of a tree and not hate the tree.
