About The Artwork

The inspiration for this work was re-reading one of my favorite children's book, Wind in the Willows. I found that I share the same deep love of nature that emanates throughout Greene's stories. This painting was inspired by the descriptive imagery of the Wild Wood, hence the name! Anyone who grew up with these stories can see the poetry of his text within the brush strokes. "The Wild Wood" is an oil on stretched canvas, built on heavy-duty stretchers. Surface has a slight sheen from a light coat of conservator's varnish for protection. The sides are painted black. The painting is wired and ready to hang.
