ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The woodcut is a strong artistic means of expressionism. Central themes of expressionism are u. a. political and social issues as well as emotional aspects of single individuals. Inspiration is surprisingly and spontaneously implemented in the expressionist woodcut, graphic clarity and the ability to abstract in the simplification characterize this medium. Ahmed Borai's works painted and collaged on newspaper should be seen as a homage to the expressionist woodcut. They are a painterly declaration of love for this artistic means of expression. The "paperplaining" technique developed by Ahmed Borai allows the artist to spontaneously paint on newspaper. The painted newspapers are graphically collaged on cardboard. This is how the works, based on a woodcut, are created graphic and painterly unique pieces. Technique: acrylic on primed newspaper - collaged on drawing cardboard 250 g/m - light acrylic varnish, signed and dated/2021 on the back Presentation: the work on paper must be framed, presentation freely in a frame on passepartout cardboard .

Collage - Montage "There is no way around art, art is the way" projects - artrecycle | paperplaining | collaboration with artists Since 1994 I am coordinating the project "artrecycle"- global network - drawings on paper - recycling of art. "Give the paintings a second chance"- drawings, destined for the trash - the "forgotten paintings" are collected and used as material for collages, objects or installations. I love the lightness of paper, my favoured art material for paintings, collages, sculptures and installations. Mostly I am working on those projects - artrecycle and paperplaining - collaboration with artists. Through the cooperation with other artists I have developed the idea of "collages of individual ideas". Painting with fragments of "daily news". As a medium, I prefer daily newspaper paper. The information and images in the newspapers provide me with the background for my artistic work. When it comes to visual design, my motivation comes from changing what is given, using the necessary resulting artistic stylistic means. This approach can be described as "crossover". A method of conscious and unconscious work steps that leads directly to the necessary image statement, the image content. I would like to describe my work process and the result as - The Awakening of the Dream, Remembering the Future.
